Sustaining raspberry and banana smoothie

We love smoothies, they are a wonderful way to get everyone to eat more fruit. This is a simple recipe, the addition of some oats makes it more sustaining so you stay fuller for a little longer! We make our smoothies dairy free with plain soya yogurt but you can use any plain yogurt.

Sustaining raspberry and banana smoothie

Serves 4

  • 1 banana
  • small punnet of raspberries
  • 200ml of apple juice
  • 3 tbsp of plain soya yogurt
  • 2 tbsp of porridge oats
  • 4 ice cub

Mix all the ingredients in a blender, I find it better not to put the ice cubes in first so they are not next to the blades. Hopefully a tip to keep your blender blending a little longer.Blitz for a minute and serve. Will make 3 0r 4 depending on how big your glasses are!

Made this morning for all the family. Everyone gulped it down in seconds! Love the idea of adding oats…very clever for children who are reluctant to eat porridge in the mornings!
